The Virginia Neptunes Basketball Team is powered by vision, leadership, and a deep commitment to excellence led by Owner Adrian "A.J." Justis II and Co-Owner Derek Floyd.
Together, A.J. and Derek bring more than business acumen to the table they bring purpose. Their mission is clear: to build a professional basketball franchise that reflects the talent, pride, and power of Hampton Roads.
As lifelong believers in the power of sport to uplift communities, they have laid the foundation for an organization that values culture just as much as competition. From game day to grassroots, every decision made is designed to create long-term opportunity for athletes, fans, partners, and the entire 757 region.

ADRIAN "A.J." JUSTIS II

A.J. Justis is a businessman with an avid love for his family, community, and the game of basketball
Along with his passion for sports,
he also has a great passion for media and entertainment. He is the CEO of
Selah Productions LLC, a video production, photography, and podcast
production company. He’s also the co-founder of Trinity Entertainment, a film and
television production company.
A.J.’s passion for the community, business, and sports inspired him, along with his business partner Derek, to create the
Neptunes Basketball Club as a way to provide a platform for basketball players to
showcase their talents and take their gifts to the NBA, G-league, or overseas. His
ultimate goal with the Neptunes is to create a conduit of excellence,
professionalism, and progression for athletes within the basketball community of
Hampton Roads.

DEREK FLOYD

Derek Floyd is a business owner & media professional with experience in film and television. He co-owns Selah Productions, a media company that specializes in live-streaming production, photography, videography, logo reveals and editing.
Originally from Washington D.C., Derek found a passion for basketball growing up watching the Washington Wizards and having great experiences at the games. Now in Hampton, he wants to share his love for basketball in the community!

championship-level basketball.
We searched across all of Hampton Roads to find and recruit the best of the best — professionals whose dedication, expertise, and leadership not only elevate our
organization but reflect the vibrant talent within our community.
Each member of our staff brings a unique background and a shared commitment to growing the game, developing athletes, and representing Virginia with pride both on and off the court.

Assistant General Manager
Daniel Roth
Daniel Roth enters his first season with the Neptunes as Assistant general Manager.
He brings an enthusiastic working knowledge of planning, and small business structure.
Roth joins the Neptunes Organization Business with experience in operations,
professional and entrepreneur with experience in business development, analytics,
marketing, and strategic planning. He is the founder of Respawn Fitness and has
worked with organizations to improve business performance, develop growth strategies,
and strengthen customer engagement. Daniel is pursuing his B.S. in Business with a
specialization in International Business at Regent University and has a strong passion
for basketball and the business behind the sport aspiring entrepreneur with a focus on
the beauty and social-impact sectors.

Director of Basketball Operations
Diego Sanchez

Diego begins his first year with the Neptunes Organization. His duties will include Game
Day setup, manages the various administrative, financial, and logistical day-to-day
functions of the Neptunes. Other Responsibilities for Sanchez will include coordinating
travel flights, hotels, buses, and game itineraries for all home games. He will also help
organize leagues games, workouts, and facility times.
A native of Fredricksburg, Virginia where he developed a love for basketball, Diego is a
is in his fourth year studying finance at Christopher Newport University (VA).

Director of Business Relations
Hannah Roach
Hanna enters her first season with the Neptunes as Director of Business Relations.
She is a fourth-year student in Hampton University’s five-year MBA program with a
strong interest in business strategy, project management, and leadership. Bringing
hands-on corporate experience in communications, team coordination, and project
organization, she thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
Hanna is passionate about the intersection of business and athletics and is excited to
apply her skills as an intern with Vaneptunes Basketball. Driven, personable, and team-
oriented, she is committed to supporting organizational goals and creating positive
impact. Outside of her academic and athletic pursuits, Hanna is an aspiring
entrepreneur with a focus on the beauty and social-impact sectors.

Event Coordinator
Ja'Niya Bell
Ja’Niya Bell joins the Neptunes Organization as its new coordinator of Events / Media. She is a
graduating senior at Hampton University studying Business Management with a concentration in
Information Systems. While at Hampton, she has developed valuable leadership and teamwork
experience through Army ROTC and HU Campus Ministry, strengthening her ability to
collaborate, connect with others, and create meaningful experiences within the community.
Following graduation, Bell aspires to pursue a career in project management or consulting with
one of the Big Four consulting firms. Her long-term goals include becoming a full-time
entrepreneur and real estate investor.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Ja’Niya enjoys traveling, content creation, building LEGOs,
and watching sports. Hailing from the DMV, she is a proud DC sports fan and enjoys watching
the Commanders play alongside her family. With 14 years of experience playing basketball,
Ja’Niya is excited to return to the basketball community in a new capacity.
As an Event Coordinator and Community Liaison for the Neptunes Basketball Club, Ja’Niya looks
forward to creating fun, engaging, and memorable events while building connections between the
club and the local community.”

Media / Sideline Reporter
Makayla Brown

Makayla Brown joins the Neptunes Media team as host & courtside reporter for the
2026-2027 season. Brown is an energetic, enthusiastic, a creative personality.
Makayla, currently a third-year student at Hampton University is a Strategic
Communications major with a minor in Marketing. She is Proudly from Charlotte, North
Carolina, she is passionate about communication, talking and connecting with people,
graphic design, media, and creative work. “I enjoy being able to use my voice and
creativity to tell stories, share ideas, and connect with different audiences. I am always
looking for opportunities to grow my skills and gain more experience in the
communications, media, marketing, and sports industries.”

Assistant Director of Marketing & Sales
Paris Widdiss-Hendricks

Paris Widdiss-Hendricks joins the Neptunes as a Marketing & Sales
Coordinator responsible for small business sales, online advertisement,
and VIP floor seat sales. Paris’responsibilities include overseeing the sales
and business retention efforts, managing business partnerships, strategic
planning to maximize growth and long-term sustainability. In addition to his
business development responsibilities, Paris works closely with the
marketing team assisting with community service and vendor relationships
Paris, from Cape Cod, MA attends Hampton University and is a Business
Management major (2027). She is passionate about gaining hands-on
professional experience, strengthening both business and leadership skills,
and applying it in a professional setting.
